Based out of Portland, Oregon, Hummingbird Architecture is a boutique architecture firm that believes buildings should express personalities as unique as their human counterparts.

Architecture With Personality is vital in the current landscape because it offers distinction. Personality differentiates one from the rest. It creates an environment that is relatable, impressionable, and memorable. Personality enables architecture to intrinsically communicate who we are and the message we have to share.

Fortunately, Hummingbird Architecture’s projects are as diverse and varied as the clients we serve. Sometimes bold and strong, other times more subtle and subdued. Throughout the spectrum, each project is designed to be distinctive, memorable, and compelling based on its own motivations.

At Hummingbird Architecture, designing Architecture with Personality is our passion. Cultivating relationships is our commitment. We nurture relationships for the long-haul and we endeavor to align ourselves with like-spirited clients: people who are fair, honest, open-minded, and enthusiastic.

OUR TEAM
Jacob Lupton is a spirited, light-hearted and trustworthy leader. Personable and naturally attuned to people’s needs, he is a good at making people feel their message has been heard. His ability to relate to a range of people enables him to navigate complex projects with tact: getting collective buy-in from multiple stakeholders; keeping a group on target; and making order out of a naturally chaotic process.

Jacob is also good at getting to the heart of an issue. He can step back from a problem, look at it from a different angle, and provide alternate solutions on the spot. All of this he does with a positive and energetic attitude combined with a light sense of humor – which makes working with Jacob a real pleasure.
